Colorado - Lucy on Film, well video 😉

Good evening greetings from a still very very cold Colorado.

Luckily however we were able to pull the slides out this afternoon and I could give you all a little video of Lucy. She really stole my heart many times over. She is not just beautiful but she has style, has lots of neat upgrades we had no idea off initially and she is just plain perfect.

And then I finished my day with a bucket list item I had on my list for many many years.

Last Sunday Ron and I met a couple who are mushers and we donated some of our meat to them since we have to downsize of course and that means also food we can store on Lucy. As a thank you I was offered to go dog sledding with her today. It is hard to put into words how wonderful it was. To watch the dogs, each an incredible athlete and smart in the positions they hold work as a well oiled machine with their owner. It was truly magnificent to be a part of this team for a little while.

Colder then Hutzel and storage panic

Where should one never ever live or consider living in an RV? In temperatures that hurt your face!

I woke up to one of the coldest days we have ever seen up here in Colorado and it is painful.

Yes it might say -22 but what matters is that it feels like -32. Nope nope nope. I am very grateful we are still living in our house but darn when the sale comes through we will aim our Lucys compass south. How fast I wonder can she go???

Then this ‘little’ witch is going all over the place trying to move our belongings into Lucy when she is unable to open up the slides to access all her storage. Little panic attacks are happening when I realize my beloved kitchen items have pretty much no chance in hell into fitting anywhere. So what do I do? I hit the internet and search for pantry organization ideas on a Renegade Verona, only I realize there is nothing. Zip zero help offered and I am not sure why as there are plenty of fellow travelers already out there……
I was beyond confident that my minimalistic approach I studied for the last two years would come in handy but I am thinking I have truly no clue.
Captain Ron on the other hand keeps assuring me it will all work out which is not really lowering the panic I feel in my tummy.

So off I go again, into the cold to try and fit more things into Lucy. Poor babe, it’s not her fault I am all over the place as she does off course tries to provide plenty of storage in her 40 feet length, 8 some feet wide and 13 foot hight. I just need to get my act together.

Hi Ho Hi Ho…. Of to work I go.

Colorado - Lucy’s first outing with us… to the gas station.

This morning we woke up to a tiny bit of snow but some very very cold temperatures. It was -18’Celsius at 7 am and my hope to move items into Lucy this morning was a tad hampered by this. It felt so cold that my face hurt when I stepped outside. Never less I moved some dish ware over, but I couldn’t set up the bed as with the snow we are not able to move the slides out.

We did however brave in taking Lucy to our neighbors gas station to fill her up a little bit. She did wonderful.

Well we are suppose to be cold and snowy until Thursday so not much will happen here.

Colorado - We Love Lucy

Yesterday Ron and I were given a virtual video tour of our new baby girl as she was getting prepped for her trip from Lake Havasu, AZ to us here in CO.
It truly was love at first sight when we spotted her initially with the pictures we were send but my heart was all in when I saw her yesterday in the walk through video. She is gorgeous. Once she arrives I will take a video and post it here.
She has several additions that I had no idea of but which makes us even more off grid compatible as she has Solar Panels on the roof as well as a satellite dish.
Countdown for her to arrive is now 0 days, count down to launch her is 10 days.

Well the update is that she arrived at 16:00 and unfortunately we had to tuck her in for the next few days due to the winter storm that is moving in and that is suppose to last until Thursday.
So I got a couple of videos in when she arrived but had no time to get the inside filmed as I had to give the driver a ride to the airport.

Colorado - RV there yet?

In just a couple of weeks we will start a new chapter in our life. We are closing on our home soon and are making the move into an RV.

Our beautiful Happy Bear 🐻 Mountain Retreat, that gave us some magical times in the last 15 years, will be in our rear view mirror while Lucy, our Renegade Verona will become our new home.

For 15 years we enjoyed the house my husband build. Over 4000 sq feet and 22 acres bordering National Forest provided us with space and privacy when it was needed.

Lucy will give us 398 sq feet and the US and Canada as our backyard.

Our new lineup is as followed:

Captain Ron (husband)

The wicked witch 🧙🏻‍♀️ - Me

Little K - Keetna (GSD)

Wiggle Butt - Mishka

Stinky Butt - Oliver (Chuwienie)

Bella - Cat

BooBoo - Boomer - Cat

Lucy (RV)

Lou (Trailer)

Rosalina (A7)

Maggie Mae (Sequoia)

Lucy will arrive this week, as will the movers to take some of our belongings to SAT to be kept safe by our daughter Niki. SAT will be our home base so yes we are making a return to TX. I never thought I would say that ever again when we moved to Colorado but here we go 😉

Here in this blog is where I will post about our shenanigans on the road and I expect there will be quiet a few. Taking the plunge in every way. This girl here never even drove a pickup but I am excited to learn to maneuver Lucy and Lou.

See you all sooner or later as we will be aiming to visit Family and Friends.
