Colorado- One Day to Launch…..

 Good Morning little world.

We almost made it and are just one day away from heading out towards Georgia and leaving Colorado behind. It’s been a long month but those last few days have been super busy. On Friday we were able to pick up Lucy but not without some hiccups. For one, ATR Collisions said the insurance company still owes them $2500. In order for us to get Lucy we had to pay the money and we will need to work with the insurance to get it back. That shall be fun!

Then Ron drove to Purcell Tire to get Lucy’s new ‘shoes’ put on. We had ordered the Michelins Tires two weeks ago and when Ron called them on Wednesday they told him the tires were here and ready to put on. However, when Ron arrived they guided him in only to realize they were one tire short. Instead if 6 they only had 5. How crazy is that? Honestly my trust in human intelligence is waning at times. So today, Monday, Ron again headed to the tire place and fingers crossed it will get done today as we are set to leave tomorrow. Now what is also in the air is that today was suppose to be Lucy getting a Tune-Up at Freighleiner but this might fall through depending how long the tires take. It would be so nice if once in a while things played out the way we planned them.

Our stay however was very productive. We checked off many errands as well as visited with some of our friends. We also got to spend fun times with our boys. At least once a week we got together for a bit and this past weekend Connor was able to spend the night and Alex joined us for breakfast on Sunday. So we made the best of our time here in Colorado and we are super ready to move on. Did I mention we even got snow last week? Definitely time to move Lucy Lou out of the North West.

I am finishing laundry this morning and once Ron brings Lucy back to the Hotel I will get very very busy in loading her up.

We are estimating about 10 days to move to Georgia as we have two campgrounds picked out where we like to spend a few nights. One in Eureka Springs and one on the Mississippi River by Memphis. The first two nights will most likely be in rest stops or a Walmart.

As to my writing I got nothing done in the month we were here. I have really slacked off and hope that traveling will motivate me to write again.

Happy Halloween to all if you 🦇🧙🏻‍♀️🦇

Colorado - Us Gypsies without Lucy

It’s a bittersweet day today as we dropped of Lucy with ATR Collision Repair and our month of living at Woodsprings Suites has started. The space we moved into is not that bad as we are very good in downsizing of course. We have a small kitchen that has a two burner stove, a decent size refrigerator and a microwave and sink. There is a sofa, a desk, TV, storage/closet area and a king size bed. It will do for a month but admittedly we miss Lucy very much already. What has me worried now, even thought worrying won’t make a difference, is that the guy in charge at ATR Collision told us upon dropping off Lucy that he will go on vacation come Wednesday and be gone for a week and a half and that it might take more then a month to fix Lucy now.

Oh how proud I am in how much I improved my reactions over the years as I do study my stoicism daily and so I kept my mouth shut. In days past I would have been tempted to voice my displeasure but yes, it wouldn’t change a thing. All I can say is that in all the years we lived in Colorado, starting in 2007, I have been disappointed over and over at the horrid work ethic that prevails here. The lies and the lax attitude, the entitlement and disregard of others time makes me livid and I always wondered why this was? Colorado is a most beautiful state when it comes to nature and the Rockies. But it is in my eyes a state that looks like a yummy shiny apple on the outside but has a rotten core. Now I am not talking about all areas in Colorado as i have no insight there but the area we were familiar with this has been the case with everything.

Okay, of my soap box as I said my piece but I so look forward to leaving Colorado behind and not looking back.

We will make the best of our stay at the Woodsprings Suites up in north Colorado Springs. We are neighbors to the Bal Seal Engineering Company who build a beautiful 0.5 mile exercise trail for their employees but which the pups and I love to walk on every day. There are lots of yummy restaurants all around us as well as other hotels. There is an exercise room here as well as a nice laundry room. What more do I need?

I am hoping to use this time here to work on my book some more. Right now I am writing but I need to get all the thoughts and input organized.

Oh and of course we want to work on our itinerary for our launch. The goal is Georgia of course to see Sam, but I already have some spots I want us to hit. There is Eureka Springs, AR, which is supposed to have a magical hot springs with magnetic forces, plus a German Restaurant. Then I want a few nights at the Tom Sawyer RV Park as it is smack on the Mississippi River and all spots face the River. So yes, lot of planning to do…..
