NV - Renegade Bootcamp NV/24

Exactly two years into us getting Lucy we finally got a spot into one of the famous Renegade Bootcamps, hosted by Julie and Jeff Swartz. They are Renegade Royalty in every sense of the word. They are the most lovely humans who have a work ethic that even (wink wink) every German would be in proud off. The joke in Germany is that a machine will stop working before a German would, well they have not met Julie and Jeff! Driven and smart they put on a most efficient running program.

Now they had some wonderful support by two other couples, Ruth and Jay, plus Connie Jo and Steve. They were the official and super competent and very fun Ambassadors during this week.

For me the experience was eye opening. It wasn’t just the parts we learned about our Renegades but the teaching us how to research and problem solve. I walked away feeling confident that anything that will come up (and we all know there will) we can sit back, look up and repair or address the issue. So many things we can do that should have been common sense. MAINTENANCE! Ron and I have always been religious in taking our cars in for maintenance schedules and checkups. We always relied on the make manufactures to do the job and it always payed off. The Lexus went to Lexus, our Toyota to Toyota and the Audi only knows Audi dealerships. This way all of them have records in the computers and no matter what Audi Dealer we stop at they see and can look up the history. Well we have done pretty much the same with Lucy but in her case it involves more. There is the chassis part, Freighliner, and the RV part, Renegade.

So keeping everything in order and carry a checklist is a must for us.

Wich brings me to checklists:

I have several. There are maintenance checklists, departure and arrival checklists. So many moving parts to get us going and then set up.

Ron was wonderful and ordered some cool checklist boards, just like those used for flying way back then.

Thanks to the Bootcamp we feel more prepared and more at ease for those things that will come up. Lucy is our home and hence we depend on her. We won’t be upgrading to a newer or bigger unit because she fits us perfectly and covers what we need. So yes, taking care of her is one of our biggest jobs ♥️
