We had some very busy days that started on May 31 when I went to pick up Alex in Colorado Springs and us then moving from Longmont, CO to the KOA Denver West in Central City, CO.
Lucy had to climb up to 8888 feet from an elevation of 6000 feet. To go on I-70 West is an adventure as it involves a lot of steep grades in climbing as well as descents. Lucy did great and had a much easier time climbing without having Lou attached. The KOA campground was very nice and would have been fun had we had time to enjoy the area. As it stood we ended up there as it was the only campground that had openings during the days of Connors graduation which was in Denver. Our commute to Denver was 45 min one way on the 1st of June, as well as a return on the 2nd when both boys got their tattoos. Connors graduation was wonderful and we were happy that he got a pass to go and stay with all of us at the campground for one night. There was a cafe at the grounds so we had pancakes there for breakfast. For his graduation, both boys asked for to have tattoos. It is something they wanted for years but we wanted to wait for them after they turned 18, which was in April. Connor did the research and found the Tribe Tattoo shop and it took over 5 hours to get them done. They both turned out awesome and both boys were happy with the results. Afterwards Connor went back to his home while Alex spend one more night with us at the campground.
Oh and while we were at the KOA Denver West we got snow, lots of snow and then mud. However, it dried up on and I was able to sit outside and have my coffee before we left there.
Departure day was June 3 when we first had to drop of Rosalina with the Casson Family for a month or two. Then we headed down to Colorado Springs to drop of Alex. We didn’t go much further but boondocked in Fountain, CO for the night.
