Colorado - Starlink for the win!

Since we took ‘flight’ in March we had a tad of a battle staying connected while on the go. We had opted to use a Verizon Hotspot device that offered 135 GB and let’s just say we ran out of it each month before the cycle was up. This in return meant we had to rely on our phones to be our hotspots and it also used up their data quick which confused me as I thought we had unlimited data….. Plus, we have been with Verizon since 2007 but of course it depends on coverage so again it’s a hit or miss.

It’s the 21st century curse of course that we have the need to stay connected 24/7, and while we still talk that our generation isn’t as dependent as the ones after us we do get indeed frustrated when the speed is slow or gets interrupted. Like watching our beloved F1 Racing and missing the last 10 minutes of the race. It doesn’t make for the best start of the day.

However, moving on to today when we setup the Starlink Satellite Dish for us RVers that I picked up from our friends yesterday (our friends were kind enough to let us use their home address to have it shipped to since we seem to never know where we are each week). Those last two months have been a tad crazy but that will go into another post.

So, again we set it up and we are not just connected but it is FAST!

Cobra Kai here we come, as we are going to binge watch the latest season now!

As to the the price it is a tad higher as the permanent version. The dish and router cost $700, but it comes with a monthly price tag of $135. I heard it was lower in monthly cost for the stationary set up.

However, we put in the order less then 2 weeks ago so it arrived very fast, compared to the house version which has at times 1 to 2 years of back orders.

So we will still use our phones as hotspots when driving as you do have to take it down before you take to the road but that will be no big deal as we mostly travel only 3 hours or 300 miles in one day. The setup is also not very complicated and I admit it felt a bit like I was opening an Apple device. The same classic feel of simple and easy instructions and only three parts to it all. The dish, the router and the cable. The rest one does through the app.

So no more excuses forme behind behind on my blogging or working in my book. We are thrilled with our newest addition to the family:
