We arrived at this park on January 3, 2023 and had planned to stay here for 3 nights. It is located right between the Big Bend National Park and the Big Bend State Park and if you like the desert there is so much beauty to be seen. We realized to truly soak it all in one needs more time here so after one night Ron went to the office and extended our stay until January 12. We are now at Jan 7 and still have not made it into the Parks yet but this RV Park has the most incredible hiking trails right out there backyard. It is also a Golf Resort so there is a Bar, a Restaurant and Bakery/Pizzeria across the street at the Boardwalk. As to shopping there is a little gift store and a general store. That general store might be the best stocked little store I have yet to come across. They have a little of everything but they have tons of liquor, wine and beer options.
A couple of days ago I got a 80 min massage at the Resort (Ron was to get one, too, but he wasn’t feeling well due to still recovering from the Flu we had after our return from Germany). He will get his next week now. That massage was something else as it was good but very painful. I was so out of wack that they recommended a deep tissue massage. Let me tell you I had tears in my eyes and I felt like I had bruises all over my body and as if a horse had kicked my butt. I am not coming-leaning at all as it was just testimony to how tight and stressed my body was.
Now as to the area we have been exploring it is stunning. I never thought I would be so drawn to desert as I love forests and mountains. Well they have mountains here but not many trees. This however made me realize how fun it is to hike in the open. You can see so far and the colors of the rocks are stunning.
Then of course there is the heated pool! Pure love. I guess this is the first year they heated it as I was told it used to be very cold. Well, it does get cold in the desert at night and even our heater comes on in Lucy each night. The days are however very warm and sunny with blue skies.
This is what I love the most about our new lifestyle. We get to see so much scenery and different environments and each one holds something special.
