Yesterday we traveled 3 hours east after leaving the Niagara Falls Area.
We made it to Penn Yan, NY in the Finger Lakes Region. I was looking up Harvest Host options but the ones I really liked were not an option due to our size as in a Maple Syrup Farm. I admit I wanted to take a break from Breweries and Vineyards this time around as we are stocked up on wine and beer. So the next thing that was available was the icon with a house on it. This shows they are in the Boondockers Welcome program which means they are not a business but fellow travelers that open their home and property for others to park and spend the night. This can be on a driveway, in a field, next to a house etc etc.
I contacted Mike and Gail and got a responds that we can stay with them and that they have room for us. When we arrived by 1 pm Mike and his sweet pup JJ met us and guided us in.
The location is beautiful, serene and peaceful. Mike and Gail were born and raised in this area and are just a sweet sweet couple. The property used to be a dairy farm a long time ago but Mike turned it into a work shop as he restores old cars and they are stunning.
Our pups were in heaven as they go to run and play here, we had a lovely night and this morning Mike wants to show Ron how to build a battery box for our trailer before we move east again this afternoon.
So much love for this Boondockers Welcome experience.
