Pure love for this Harvest Host in Fremont OH. This Harvest Host is run by a retired K9 Police Officer who trained and still trains some K9’s now. He used to train German Shepherds but now the transition is pretty much all Belgian Malinois.
I admit I was a tad anxious when I requested a stay there as of course our two pups don’t really measure up well in obedience thanks to us. But we took a chance as after all I might have been able to watch and learn.
Sadly no training sessions were on while we were there BUT the stay was still absolutely wonderful. Brian started talking to us 20 min prior to our arrival by phone as in telling us the best approach. He then met us a couple of miles out to guide us to his driveway. There we decided the best approach in us parking there. Turns out Ron backed Lucy Lou in from the road all the way back to one of the 50 amp available spots. Brian and Wendy have three 50 amp spots available but can park up to 5 RV’s. So we lucked out in getting one of the three. He also offered us water access as well as a grey water dump, both of we didn’t need to use but it was great to have the option which is not usual for Harvest Hosts.
I had lots of area to walk our two babes, Keetna and Oliver, and as some of the training there is scent work our two had their noses on the ground none stop smelling most likely many new and unknown to them scents.
The highlight truly was watching Brian and Wendy in action in how much work and effort they put in to make the stays for Harvest Hosts fun. Even in the pouring rain they were out guiding others in.
On our second night we had so much fun sitting in a circle with two other Harvest Host Members, plus our hosts and socialized for several hours. We sat all afternoon into the evening talking away.
I am thrilled beyond words that we are on the move again. I missed this and for us being in one place for 4 weeks or more is just not good, unless we are of course with friends as we were in Quartzsite.
Today we drove for 2 1/2 hours and made it to another Harvest Host but more about the crazy adventure of getting there in the next blog post ♥️
