When we started this journey we were advised by other full time travelers that the best move is to follow the 3/3/3 rule.
It consists of driving no more then 3 hours,
Or drive no more then 300 miles,
And always try to arrive at your destination before 3 pm.
On our trip up north today we nailed this rule and it is truly impressive what a difference it makes in the way you feel when you arrive.
It took us 2 hours and 45 min to get from Blanca Peak to the Mountaindale RV Resort, that included two stops for diesel (I explain later why two stops 😉). It was a 165 mile trip and we arrived at the Resort at 12:30. We set up, had lunch and took a nap all before 3 pm.
We are well rested, we have a beautiful spot in the trees, the people working here are wonderful and dinner was delivered in the form of a pizza to our site. The pups love it here and we even saw several deer on our walk. We were told bears are very active here so to take caution. So wildlife is abundant here.
This will be our home for the next 4 nights and then off to somewhere new.
