We arrived in Augusta GA on November 20 and it was one of the greatest arrival surpisres ever! We booked a week at the Diamond Lake Regional Park Campground (which is awesome at just $20 a night), so we could spend Thanksgiving with Tammy, Christina, Jeremy and Princeton. The approach to the park was a tad challenging as I was the lead car again in Rosalina but my GPS refused over and over to sync with Lucy’s Garmin 1090 (Trucker GPS). So with just 10 min to go we got seperated as I passed a turn off and all I could see in my rear view mirror was Lucy disappearing on a right hand turn.
So it ended up Ron came in the correct way to the Park which entrance was close to the campground. I on the other hand came in on the sports complex side so worked my way though it, one speed bump at a time.
So by the time I pulled in I saw out of the corner of my eye a SuperC parked and made a mental note to look them up later once we were set up. Yes I admit, us Renegades will hunt down other Renegades when seeing them.
However, I had to put that aside as now it was time for Ron and I to park and set up.
Our spot, I am happy to say was just across the other SuperC. it was indeed a Renegade Valencia!
Anyway we were doing our usual OCD parts of trying to line up perfectly which means back and forth about 5 times or more, depending on our mood. Since we do often draw attention with our parking I could see someone walk up from behind and when I turned I saw Tammy and Princeton standing there.
Now my brain was obviously slow moving as indeed, Tammy and Gene bought a brand new Renegade a couple of months earlier but I also knew they told me they picked it up and put it into storage as Gene had to go back to Germany.
What I never counted on is that Tammy would go and get it out of storage and book a site next to us for the week we were here. All this even thought their house is just 10 min down the road! I was so happy as this was better than any gift I could have gotten. We have some awesome family!
We celebrated a whole Thanksgiving week that included BBQ’s, fireplace & S’mores, a full Thanksgiving Dinner with food to feed 20 by the kids who worked all day and turned out amazing. They also went and decorated the house so beautifully. We got spoiled from the moment we arrived. Thanksgiving to me is about family and I was and am so grateful for ours.
This week also included lots of coffee and some shopping. Yes, after many years of abstaining we ventured out on Black Friday and to our shock the stores were not busy and the parking lots empty. It was a pleasant outing after all. Who knew!
We also went to Augusta as Ron needed a new iPad. So I got to spend an hour of bliss in a store that projects nothing but joy to me. I was smiling from the moment we entered even thought I knew it was Ron who would get something. I tell you in another life I want to work in an Apple Store. I could easily sell things I love and are convinced of, Chocolate would be the other.
On Sunday a day before we had to move on we got to help Tammy winterize and store their MH and it was a great teaching moment as this is something we never did. It was very fascinating watching Gene explains and walk Tammy through every step via the phone as he is in Germany.
We were suppose to move on on Monday but extended by one more day and then headed out on Tuesday towards Florida. We spend one night in a Rest Stop and arrived safe and sound on the 29th of November at Sun Outdoors RV Resort in Sarasota.
