We decided to boondock on our way to TX at a Casino as we hadn’t done this since we traveled through New Mexico.
I located this Casino in Bossier City through Campendium and the reviews looked great. And, they were correct!
This stop over for the night couldn’t have been better. A very large parking lot, so we could line up Lucy Lou in a way to get the bedroom and kitchen slide out. We ran the generator for a couple of hours but turned it off when we went to bed. The Casino was beautiful and next to it was a Bass Pro Shop, plus a pedestrian Boardwalk with several stores and restaurants by the Red River.
The benefits of spending a night by a casino is that security is usually very good and one feels safe. We ended up being three Motorhomes parking close to each other which I thought was cute as we could have all spread out but it feels nice being in a group. Oh and since we turned off the generator at bed time I was happy to see the batteries read 77% when I got up in the morning. She still got it in her as it’s been a while since we boondocked.
Yesterday was also my Mom’s 90th Birthday, well it would have been if she was still alive. I felt very sad all day and melancholic so Ron spoiled me and we went on a celebratory dinner at the casino which had a nice seafood restaurant. I ordered Crawfish Étouffèe (which was incredibly) and Ron had a Cheeseburger which was equally amazing. My mom loved seafood and would have enjoyed the menu and how I wish she could have experienced traveling in Lucy Lou with us. I know she would have loved it as traveling and camping was in her blood as much as it is in mine.
