We did it!!! At 14:37 today we launched Lucy and Lou for they first true outing. The house sale closing was today and it was a mad rush these past couple of weeks getting to this point. It was stress squared over.
Today our first stop was in Fountain, CO, to go to Transwest and have our water filter housing repaired and get some water in her. Oh but I have to admit this morning Captain Ron went and filled her up at our now former neighbors gas station. This proceeded into Lucy smelling a bit like banana peppers, as someone who won’t be named did not latch the refrigerator closed before this outing took place. So I guess Lucy did not get her champagne christening but banana peppers will do.
After our maintenance stop we aimed for Pueblo as we realized we hadn’t had any food all day. We thought (always challenging here) that if we went to a Love’s Truck Stop we would find room plus get some good food. Oh how wrong we were! It was a large truck stop and there wasn’t one open spot. Semis were stuffed into lines like sardines with about two feet between them. Not a good picture for our sweet Lucy. So off we went for some quick pizza and then back on the road for the search of a place to spend the night.
We are now at a rest stop south of Pueblo in Colorado City. Here we found a spot and are thrilled to be stopped for the night.
I am so happy for you! But I am sorry I didn't get a chance to see you before you left. ❤️
