Disclaimer: So for one we are still moving items to Niki’s so we are packed fuller then we will be when truly starting our travels, add to this 3 dogs and two cats (which are not to happy about traveling) we are a tad more then crowed in, even thought Lucy is a decent size. Having 7 beating hearts in a 40 foot space takes some creative thinking. For one, the second rear bathroom is not to be used by any humans. The shower holds the litter box, the floor is for the kitty beds, food and water. Which means I have to hide my hair as it hasn’t seen a brush in 3 days as I have no clue where my brush is. Probably the cats ate it, I am sure of it.
The nastiness of some of the truck stops, darn they are messy, but then the pups love it. Their noses go a mile a minute while I try to skip and dart over to many yucky yucky things on the ground. So I guess it’s all about perspective in that case. It’s not for the faint of heart.
Ah the limited floor space. When we left CO we were surrounded by nothing but mud due to the snow and ice melt. This meant our pretty tile floor had some paw print art on it. Now fast forward to several spilled water bowls and voila my floor is looking cleaner again. Even thought walking around with wet socks is a sensory issue I am not a fan of yet. But hey, one can learn, right?
Another part is to not count on a good eating schedule. One has hardly the time to eat. Well I guess that could be a win for the pups and I as we could indeed benefit from some weight loss.
Then my brain has to step back and dust up some old memories because let’s face it. Running Lucy is like running an airplane. Every time we get ready to move Captain Ron should be calling out ‘Flight Attendant prepare for take off’. This should motivate me to run a check on all the overhead bins, doors, latches in the galley. Because interestingly I keep forgetting to latch the refrigerator and freezer. The pups are not fans of things flying towards them once we start cruising, and my body doesn’t like having to move super fast trying to catch items. Well the pups might be okay with it if it was food flying at them and not water bottles. Same should happen for landing/stopping. Captain Ron needs to call out for me to prepare for landing. There are steps to be followed when we stop Lucy. This is not an adventure for those who want to be lax…Lucy needs a lot of attention and is a needy child in being picky about being treated with the respect she desires.
Oh and if you hyperventilate every time you go to a gas station then you should never plan on driving a Motorhome or large trailer. Let’s face it, the pain you might feel at filling up your car is a drop in the bucket when filling up Lucy. 100 gallons is again not for the weak of heart.
All this and I am still typing with a smile on my face. I love this crazy kind of chaos. After the chaos we faced in the last three years this is a walk in the park.
So if life is dragging you down, join us or meet up with us because we will have a drink ready for you.
❤️πΈπΎ❤️ I'm glad you're still smiling!
